Xylitol is a tabletop sweetener. Xylitol occurs naturally in various types of fruit and vegetables. It has a very low glycemic index and is therefore also suitable for diabetics or people on a weight-loss diet. Xylitol dissolves very well in water and has a sweet, refreshing taste. However, it has about 40% fewer calories than regular sugar. It does not harm teeth. On the contrary, it has the ability to neutralize acidic dental plaque and helps teeth mineralize. Xylitol is suitable for cooking, baking and sweetening hot and cold drinks. It does not contain GMOs.
